We are looking for an experienced Desktop Surveyor a to join our claims team

As Desktop Surveyor you will assist our policyholders with any building related queries relating to their claim and progress the claim as efficiently as possible. Provide technical support for the Claims Team and help build their understanding. Progress and finalise buildings insurance claims, this will include updating reserves, offering cash settlements, instructing contractors, and closing claims as required, and ensure decisions are clear and concise in all methods of communication to both our policyholders and suppliers.

Key accountabilities:

  • To review non delegated surveyor reports and deliver claim decisions to policyholders.
  • To review policyholder scope disputes and determine if valid and make the necessary adjustments and deliver the decision to the policyholder.
  • To review decline disputes to ensure that the correct decision has been made in line with the terms of the policy and deliver the outcome to the policyholder.
  • To validate our contractor scope estimates in line with our estimating software and policy conditions.
  • Progress and update building insurance claims, including updating reserves, cash settlement payments, contractor instructions and closing claims as required.
  • Provide technical support to the claims team in respect of buildings damage.
  • To liaise with policyholders and suppliers via the portal and phone.
  • To assist with oversight of our surveyor network and contractors with regional technical surveyor and supply chain manager assistance.
  • To undertake any individual or team task reasonably requested and in line with the company values.
  • Ensure that the claim is progressed in a timely manner and moved to completion as quickly as possible.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary education atleast 5 passes at GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.
  • Qualifications in surveying such as HNC or similar desirable

Experience & Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 10 years construction experience, trade background considered.
  • Estimating/surveying experience is a requirement.
