We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Claims Handler to join our claims team.
As Personal Injury Claims Handler you will be handling and settling Motor Injury claims, managing closely to the fulfilment of each claim. You'll be assessing indemnity and investigating liability and quantum on our technical motor claims, ensuring that each claim is dealt with thoroughly to limit indemnity spend on litigated and non-litigated cases.

Key accountabilities:

  • Assessing indemnity, investigating liability and quantum on motor claims, ensuring that each claim is dealt with thoroughly to limit indemnity spend.
  • Communicating professionally to ensure our policy holders are treated fairly and the customer receives world class service in accordance with industry and company guidelines.
  • Proactively managing a caseload ensuring that correspondence and tasks are dealt with in SLA's.
  • Negotiating settlement of third party claims.
  • Improve customer claims experience by identifying process/ control gaps in legal defence panel performance and agreeing relevant actions.
  • Maintaining a high degree of technical knowledge and to keep abreast of market and legal updates.
  • Support cost, service, and process efficiency projects across the department, as well as participating in departmental projects.
  • Maintain resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure and in changing circumstances.
  • Demonstrate a desire to take ownership of your work and maintain excellent attention to detail.
  • Undertake any individual or team task in line with company values.

Qualifications/ Experience required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience of handling technical personal injury claims.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have proven track record of in dealing with fast-track and multi-track bodily injury claims, including liability disputes.
  • Good knowledge of indemnity, liability and quantum issues.
  • Experience using Official Injury Claims system.
  • Good understanding of personal injury claims, advanced liability, fraud awareness, principles of indemnity, requirements under RTA and Article 75.
  • Secondary education with qualifications in Maths and English, or demonstrable ability in numeracy skills and written English.
